Scholars dazzled parents, teachers and their peers with their reading comprehension and presentation skills at STRIVE Prep – Kepner’s recent Literacy Night.
Six students presented their book reviews about a Just Right Book (JRB) that they had recently finished reading and shared a thoughtful analysis on if they would recommend the book to their audience or not.
Book reviews spanned from historical fiction, to comedy, to graphic novels, showing the diverse interests of the Mustang readers.
The night would not have been complete without the event’s talented
MCs, Navid Vasquez and Katee Ricalde. The pair gave a bilingual
presentation about the Mustangs’ reading goals for the year – for every student to read at least 300,000 words, and ideally, to exceed that and become a millionaire!
Congratulations to the scholars who are already well on their way to achieving this goal.
