“STRIVE Prep helped to change my future, and it helped me gain access to many opportunities that might have been harder or maybe impossible if I had attended another school.”

Finding the Right Fit for Your Family

We believe that all families deserve access to a free, high-quality, public education in their neighborhood. That’s why we’ve opened our schools in areas of Denver that have previously not had college preparatory programs easily accessible to families. Choosing a high-quality school for your child shouldn’t be a revolutionary concept. At STRIVE Prep, we want to make it easier for families to choose and attend an excellent public school that’s just right for them.

For the 2018-19 school year STRIVE Prep has 11 schools serving scholars in grades K-12 throughout Far Northeast, Northwest and Southwest Denver.

How to Enroll

Denver Public Schools SchoolChoice Enrollment Process

STRIVE Preparatory Schools participates in the Denver Public Schools (DPS) SchoolChoice enrollment process and all admissions to STRIVE Prep schools are coordinated through this process.

DPS believes that all students should have the same access to quality schools, regardless of their background or where they live in Denver. Every DPS student is guaranteed enrollment in their neighborhood school. However, any student who wants to attend a school other than their neighborhood school can take part in SchoolChoice.

Every year, families may submit one application per student, on which they rank their students’ top five school preferences for the following school year. DPS then matches students to schools based on those preferences, as well as school admission priorities and available space. The system is designed to maximize the number of students getting their most-preferred school. Round 1 of the SchoolChoice enrollment process opens on Thursday, February 1, 2018. Applications are due by Feb. 28, 2018 at 4 p.m.

Families new to the district who are interested in attending a STRIVE Prep school must submit a DPS SchoolChoice online. Current students wishing to change schools must request an admin transfer at their current school.

Who Can Enroll

Enrollment Eligibility

STRIVE Preparatory Schools is a network of free, open enrollment public charter schools.  We believe that students from all backgrounds deserve a college preparatory education regardless of race, economic circumstance, or previous academic achievement.

We welcome any scholar from kindergarten through twelfth grade who desires to STRIVE for college.  Interested families must participate in the DPS SchoolChoice Enrollment process.

Enrollment Prioritization

All families who wish to attend a STRIVE Prep school, must submit the DPS SchoolChoice Enrollment Form. Once submitted, DPS uses a set of region-specific enrollment criteria to prioritize families who are interested in attending any STRIVE Prep school.

We work closely with DPS to make every attempt to accommodate all families, particularly those with siblings who apply together in the same school year.  Families should submit a separate SchoolChoice Form for each sibling considering enrollment.
