Through one-on-one mentorship and coaching, we ensure every teacher has the tools necessary to thrive personally and professionally. And, for those individuals new to education, we provide even more access to learning resources and collaborative opportunities in the classroom, on campuses and across our network. STRIVE Prep’s prestigious paid, two-year teacher residency program allows aspiring teachers and career changers to enter the teaching profession through a supportive and gradual on-ramp.
Teacher Resident Qualifications
Residents selected will spend their first year learning from their Resident Adviser, an experienced STRIVE Prep teacher, who will provide supervised practice, regular performance feedback and gradually increased classroom responsibilities as residents earn their Colorado Initial Teaching License.
Residents become full-time STRIVE Prep teachers. During both years of the program, Residents enroll as graduate students at the Relay Graduate School of Education (GSE) and upon the successful completion of the second year, will earn their Master’s of Arts in Teaching.
Through our partnership with the Relay Graduate School of Education, Resident tuition will be supplemented with an estimated $28,500 in scholarships and Americorps rewards, allowing them to earn a Master’s degree from an accredited institution for less than $7,000 out of pocket. Federal financial aid is available to eligible Residents to help cover out of pocket expenses.
