Welcome to STRIVE Prep - Kepner

Dear STRIVE Prep - Kepner Families,

We are thrilled to have your student join us at STRIVE Prep - Kepner for the 2018-2019 school year. This year marks our first year as a complete middle school with three grades- the college classes of 2027, 2028 and 2029!

This year you and your scholar can anticipate even more academic and personal growth as we continue to focus on Literacy, Dignity and Consistency. To support these focuses and attaining our goals, families and students can anticipate 1. Nightly homework- scholars will practice academic content each night, for approximately 15 minutes per subject. 2. Changes in behavior- our school is founded on restorative practices and compassion. You can anticipate your child learning and speaking a lot about their own identity, different approaches to challenges and how to resolve conflict with peers. 3. A lot of Reading-reading is one of the most critical keys to being high school and college ready! All of our students will  meet their grade level goal of reading (6th= 250,000, 7th= 300,000 and 8th=350,000 words per year). As your child makes progress towards their grade-level reading goal, you can expect notifications that your child has new uniform privileges and will be attending special school trips.

Again, we are incredibly excited and honored for another year of  serving Southwest Denver students and their families, here is to a fantastic year!

Warm Regards,

Katie Ryan

Scholar Shoutout

STRIVE Prep – Kepner is full of student leaders! Several of our students are taking the role of founding scholars very seriously by initiating student organizations. Two, in particular, Michael and Gio, have persevered in creating a newspaper club and a leadership organization. Thank you to both scholars (and all Mustangs who are still brainstorming) for striving to improve our school and community.

Community Partnerships

Every child can benefit from local community resources and even learn how to one day contribute to their own communities.  Together, our community will determine the partners best suited to meet our students’ needs.

We open our doors every day to prepare students for academic success from kindergarten through college, with an excellent public education of high standards, structure and accountability.
