Welcome to STRIVE Prep - Montbello

Greetings Parents and Families of STRIVE Prep Montbello,

My name is Vachon Brackett and I’m extremely happy to join the staff of STRIVE Montbello as the new Principal. I’m very passionate about education and I look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and highquality middle school experience. As a parent of two boys, I recognize the importance of a strong homeschool connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met.

I have lived in Montbello for most of my life and attended elementary, middle and high school here. My educational experiences in this community inspired me to be a part of the teaching profession. I graduated from Colorado College with a Degree in Mathematical Economics. I have spent my career as a Middle School Math Teacher, Dean of Students at DSST Stapleton and DSST Green Valley Ranch, Principal with Uplift Education in Dallas, Texas for four years before returning back to the Denver community. Deciding to become an administrator came from a strong desire to make a positive impact on an entire school community as well as the desire to help build the capacity of teachers and scholars as we move into a challenging world environment.

I believe that great schools are the results of great teachers, so my primary objective will be to ensure that every student is receiving highquality instruction from every teacher at STRIVE Prep. In order to do this, I will be providing teachers with feedback on their instruction and access to professional development, as well as reaching out to parents for support with academic and behavioral concerns to ensure our students are prepared for college and 21st century careers.

It takes a village to raise a child. Parents, teachers, support staff, community and administration all play a part in helping our students meet and exceed our expectations of them. I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you as the summer and school year progress. You will find that my door is always open and I am always here to support you in any possible way. I am hoping to plan several “Meet and Greet” opportunities as soon as possible so that you can put a face with the name and get a chance to know each other.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve your families in this role! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.
