Happy 2017-2018 school year! We are excited for our rising seventh and eighth graders to continue to grow and take on leadership positions on campus. And we are excited to welcome our newest Hornets, the College Class of 2028.
This year Sunnyside Hornets will focus on how they can be the changemakers that leave our neighborhood, community, and world better than they found it.

Things We’re Looking Forward to in Quarter 1:

  • Back To School Night (Wednesday, August 30  5:30-730):

    • Meet your student’s teachers.

    • Learn about how to access your student’s grades and attendance online.

    • Receive your student’s first progress report.

    • Play Loteria (a game like Bingo) and win fun prizes.

  • Goal-setting with our Students:

    • Use beginning of year data to set incremental goals.

    • Ensure that students know the growth they need to make to be reading and doing math on a college level by the years 2022, 2023, and 2025 (their high school graduation years, depending on current grade level).

We know that you are the expert on your child. Please always feel free to reach out to your student’s advisor or Grade Level Assistant Principal with any questions or ideas.
